Nobody wants to wake up with green mucus in eye areas, but unfortunately, it’s incredibly common. Typically, eye mucus is referred to as pus drainage, and it can be characterized by weeping and oozing of the tear duct areas.
Nasal mucus is very, very abundant stuff, even when there is no illness present. Most normal nasal mucus is clear in color, so this alarming shift in hue and very drastic change in mucus color can serve as an infection indicator.
Throat mucus is very normal. It is the body’s natural response to dryness, such as that which occurs when yelling and screaming become abundant or as a response to environmental toxins like cigarette smoke. Throat mucus acts as a moisturizing lubricant and it doesn’t always necessarily indicate illness.
